Noob Vaper Guidelines

Introduction:

The introduction into vaping can be somewhat intimidating. There’s so much to choose from, so much to learn, and so much to know in general. At VaporDNA we know that we can’t always be there to explain every important detail, though we do our best to. We decided to come up with a guideline for vape beginners. This article is designed to ensure that as a newcomer, you can have the most important and basic functionality and upkeep information to start you on your new vaping journey.

Pt I. Starter kits are your friends.

It can be a little tempting to venture off and find all your own parts at the store, but the truth is, you aren’t in a position to do so quite yet, as a beginner. So ask for a starter kit. These are a smart choice and ideal decision. Starter kits give you everything you could possibly need to start off on the right foot. They provide you with every single piece and an instructional guide. This is also a great way to learn about each piece so that you can gain the knowledge to not have to purchase a starter kit the next time.

Pt. II. Know your device

There are a couple different types of devices with starter kits out there, and which one is right for you ultimately depends on what you’re looking to gain from vaping. Ask your local vape shop to help you pinpoint the right type of device for you and be aware of why it is a good choice for you. Knowing your device will also be good so you know how to vape it. Some devices provide a mouth to lung hit and some provide a direct to lung hit, which require completely different vaping methods and techniques.

Pt. III. Keep up with upkeep

Like anything else, upkeep of your device is crucial. Take care of your things and they will take care of you. For your atomizers, make sure to continually change your coils and wicks, for sub-ohm tanks, be sure to replace your coils, and for portable devices be sure to switch out your pods (depending on what kind of device you have). Store it in an appropriate place and be sure to avoid leaving your device in sunlight. Handle your device with care and clean it consistently as well to avoid e juice leaking onto your battery or simply just to keep it in good shape.

Pt. IV. Understand your e juice options

Knowing which e juice type works best with your vape or vapes is a huge one. Vaping the wrong types of e juice in your device can either damage your device or your throat! Or both! There are 2 types of e juices: freebase and salt nics. Learn more about e juices in our informational e juice article. Each bottle will also come labeled with the amount of nicotine in milligrams. Depending on how much nicotine you like or are interested in, you can get a very high or very low amount. You can also vape with 0 mg of nicotine. E juices also come in hundreds and hundreds of flavors. We encourage you to venture through them and see what you like best!

Pt. V. Battery safety/knowledge

Being able to safely care for the batteries in your device will be the main factor in ensuring your safety when vaping. If you have a pod device be sure to consistently clean your contacts so that it does not flood. This will block the battery connection and eventually kill your device.

Pt. VI. PRIME your wicks/cotton

Attention noobs! This one is a great key point. Prime your cotton please. Drip on it if you have an RBA and if you have a pod device, let the pod sit before you take your first hit. If you don’t, you’ll be pulling vapor from dry cotton which will not only taste terrible but also be terribly unpleasant.

Pt. VII. Be a law-abiding citizen

Vaping is already highly judged and critiqued by the public due to a lack of public knowledge. It’s best to abide by smoking rules when vaping in public as to respect those who may be offended by it or fear it. This keeps negativity due to vaping out of the spotlight.

Pt. VIII. Hydration

Finally, stay hydrated. Drink lots of water. Vaping does take a toll on the body, and not everyone is used to it. Do us all a favor and keep your body hydrated to avoid dehydration headaches!

Conclusion:

Just because you’re new to the vaping game doesn’t mean anyone else needs to know. Use these simple guidelines to stay away of important vaping knowledge.
