The Importance Of Ohm's Law
Brittany Hale1 comment
Introduction:
You may have heard of Ohm's Law. This law is all about current, amps and voltage and is important for many safety reasons, including battery safety. Not knowing anything about the science and math behind anything involving an electronic current is unwise and unsafe. The purpose of this article is to provide you with some insight and information about Ohm's Law and the role it plays in vaping safely.
What is Ohm’s Law?
Ohm's Law itself is I = V/R.
I is the current in your device, measured in amps, V is voltage, and R is resistance. Keep in mind, this Law represents a sort of rubber band effect, meaning that every measurement is directly correlated to the others.
Preparing for vaping on an unregulated mod:
When building coils on an unregulated device, it's important to understand the importance of knowing the correct calculations. If your calculations are incorrect, this can lead to explosions or other safety issues, not to mention a short of your device. The best way to make the correct calculations is to set them up in a sub-ohm calculator, which will input the info you do have and give you back the information that you need.
There are many online Ohm's Law calculators that are easily accessible and free. These calculators uses 4 measurements (ohms, watts, amps, and volts) to determine the proper measurements. You have to input 2 of these 4 measurements in order for the calculator to fill in the other 2. With this information, you can properly build your coils without causing a short or a battery vent or explosion.
There are many great free Ohm's Law calculators that can be found in google search.
Is it safer to use a regulated device?
Regulated devices are made to do just that: regulate. These devices are designed with chips that can read and calculate these things for you. Though no device is perfect, these devices are made to be damn close. Many will automatically short or even refuse to fire if the battery was not able to handle the amps going through it.
What are some great regulated devices for sub ohm vaping?
Conclusion:
Ohm's Law is crucial for safety when sub ohm vaping. Understanding Ohm's Law will give you the ability to be able to input the information you have into a sub ohm calculator and get back the information you need when using an unregulated device. To make life easier, you should look into regulated mods that can give you all of these calculations and keep track of them for you.
