Why Are Disposable Vapes Taking Over the Vaping Industry?
ALEX ZEIG6 comments
From 2005 to 2018, the percentage of current cigarette smokers in the US dropped by an impressive 7.2%. That's a decrease of seven per 100 people who smoked tobacco cigarettes!
A possible reason for this downward trend is that more people have switched to vaping. In 2018, 3.2% of US adults vaped, representing a 0.4% increase from the year before.
After all, the main use of e-cigs and vaporizers is to help users stop smoking. Research backs this up, showing that it can help people stay off tobacco by 77% within two years of use.
That said, if your goal is to kick the habit, disposable vapes can help.
The question is, what exactly are these disposable vaporizers anyway? What do they have to offer and why are they among the most popular vaping devices in the industry?
We'll get all these questions answered in this post, so be sure to read on!
Disposable Vapes Are Ideal for Newbies to Vaping
Disposable vape pens are single-use, ready-to-vape devices. They don't require any assembly, nor do they need charging, re-charging, or refilling. You simply open the box, take the disposable pen out of there, and start "puffing" and vaping.
Â
Most disposable vape pens don't have a button that you need to press to activate the device. You only have to bring it to your lips, inhale, and wait for it to light up as a sign you've "inhaled" enough. That's how easy it is to use disposable vaporizers.
Once the disposable (literally) runs out of juice, you only need to properly dispose of the device. Then, you can just pick up a new one that comes with either flavored or unflavored e-juice.
Vape kits and mods, on the other hand, are rechargeable, refillable devices. Even if you start with a "starter kit", you'd still need to assemble the device. It's not rocket science, but it does take some effort and learning on your part.
That said, if you're only going to start vaping now, then you may want to go with a disposable pen first. This is the easiest and fastest way to get the hang of vaping. Also, it allows you to explore various flavors and nicotine strengths for less cash.
They Can Help Make It Easier to Prevent Withdrawal Symptoms
Withdrawal symptoms are some of the biggest hurdles to tobacco smoking cessation. A sudden stop in nicotine intake can already give rise to these symptoms in as little as four hours. These unpleasant sensations will worsen, with the third day being the worst.
From anxiety to increased hunger, there's a long list of nicotine withdrawal symptoms. It's because of these that a lot of tobacco smokers quit their attempt to quit the habit.
Â
To prevent these withdrawal signs, you may want to start off with a vape pen that has less nicotine. If going "cold turkey" won't work for you, you can gradually taper off your nicotine intake. This way, you can give your body a chance to adjust to getting less and less nicotine.
This depends on how heavy a tobacco smoker you are.Â
For instance, if you smoke a pack a day, you may want to start with an e-juice containing 18 mg/ml of nicotine. If you typically smoke less than a pack a day, you may want to stick to a juice that only has 12 mg/ml of nicotine. From here, you can keep going lower until your body gets accustomed to a nicotine-free e-juice.
They Cost Less than Most Other Vaporizers
Take note that most other vape pens and mods also feature nicotine-free vapes. However, they all usually cost more than disposable vapes without nicotine. As rechargeable vapes are reusable, they tend to cost more whatever the nicotine level is.
Â
This is why disposables may be a more ideal option as you begin to transition from tobacco to vapes. Since disposable vapes cost less, you can try out various nicotine levels first. This will set you back less than if you start out with a vaporizer kit right off the bat.
In addition, disposable vapes also use the same e-liquid ingredients as other vaporizers. These include propylene glycol (PG), vegetable glycerin (VG), or a mix or ratio of both. Either way, these two are "generally recognized as safe" by the FDA.Â
They’re Convenient and Highly Portable
Disposable vape pens, seeing as you don't need to charge them, don't require any other accessory. They have ample battery life, so they'll last you long enough until you get a hold of a new pen. All these make them an ideal device for those who want convenience and portability.
Â
Speaking of portable, disposable vapes are great travel buddies. They’re lightweight and they won’t need you to lug a case of e-juice refill around. So, you'll have less to pack, less to carry around, and less to possibly forget.
They Require Very Little Maintenance
In most cases, they actually don’t need any maintenance. There’s no need to clean them or wash any of their internal parts.
Of course, you’d still want to encase them in some sort of container. Especially if you plan to just slip your disposable pen into your pocket. Even a tiny cloth bag will do so that you can prevent your change from contaminating the mouthpiece.
Take the First Step to Quit Smoking: Get a Disposable Vaporizer Now
There you have it, the main reasons that disposable vapes are becoming the top choice in the industry. They're the most affordable vaporizers out there, and they're also the easiest to use.
All these features and qualities make them a great starting point for newbies. Once you get the hang of vaping, you can then start exploring your rechargeable options. Many advanced vapers even have a couple of these disposables as a back-up for their travels.

I think it’s mostly the young kids from high school that are now old enough to buy their own Juul replacement since that’s what they started on, and Juul doesn’t make any good flavors anymore. The gas station by my house sells over 100 Puff Bars to legal young people all day everyday.
Humans with cleaner lungs filling up the planet with even more garbage. Disposable plastic pods, disposable plastic mods for the disposable plastic pods. 🙄 I’ll stick with my box mod and hope that somebody some day finds a way to create a powerful solar powered one that doesn’t require the lithium batteries .
I believe part of the surge in disposable vape devices is due to lithium batteries being banned on aircraft. As some disposables emit very little vapor they can be used surreptitiously in place where vaping is not allowed.
